1930s French Silk Lace Peignoir Bridal Trousseau Gown in Shell Pink | ODETTE ORIGINAL
Peignoir [(pen-wahr); French word meaning woman’s dressing gown worn for grooming, peigner (to comb one's hair). Bridal trousseau gown in silk charmeuse. Cut to skim and shape the body before releasing into a soft romantic drape below the waist. Dramatic scalloped warm ivory lace yoke and elaborate lace bell sleeves. Neckline ribbon tie, tiny mother-of-pearl buttons and hand-finished interior seams. Part of Odette's wedding trousseau. Never worn. The silk retains its liquid glow and structure, with a few small holes in one lace sleeve noted for transparency and age. Originally intended for bridal mornings and honeymoon evenings. It now reads as an ethereal silk gown or layering dress with extraordinary movement and an Incredibly flattering silhouette.
